Purpose of the Position / Job Summary :
Tri Scapes Inc. (TSI) is looking for an experienced concrete specialist and finisher to work alongside its three-member Public Works team. This team services various municipalities’ rights-of-way, repairing asphalt patches, sections of concrete and curb and gutter, and providing basic stormwater services for the Cities. TSI desires applicants experienced with concrete and willing to perform other City requests, as outlined above. 40 work weeks. These teams work in the Dunwoody and Tucker areas.
Essential Functions :
Placing forms that hold concrete to ensure the required depth and pitch is achievedMonitoring the effect heat, wind and cold have on curing concrete to ensure high-quality resultsRemoving edges on expansion joints and sidesInstalling anchor bolts, steel plates and other fixtures in freshly poured concretePolishing surfaces using smoothing materials, abrasive tools and surfacing machinesAligning forms for sidewalks, curbs and guttersWaterproofing, damp-proofing and restoring concrete surfacesCompacting materials using power vibrators to create leveled basesFinishing concrete surfaces with rough or smooth patterns depending on the customer's preferenceSignaling truck drivers and moving chutes to facilitate pouring concrete onto formsCasting and spreading concrete to patch voidsApplying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concreteSupervising and training workers to help them use special tools to spread concretePerforming other City work orders : Asphalt and storm water relatedConducting routine equipment and fleet maintenanceRepairing minor equipment problems. Notifying company mechanic of major equipment repairsMaintaining organized, safe, and clean shopDaily Safety Meeting AttendanceJob Specification (Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically required for competent performance in the job) :
Some knowledge of equipment such as : skid steers, excavators, and bull dozersDisciplined, flexible, dependable.Detail oriented, works responsibly under minimal supervision.Ability to operate various vehicles with or without trailers.Daily tasks require periods of standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and bending, as well as periodic lifting of up to 65 pounds.Supervisory Responsibility :
This job has no supervisory responsibility.
Minimum Qualifications :
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to apply for this position.Must live within 20-30 mile radius of Tucker, GAHeavy equipment operation experience (skid steer, mini-excavator, asphalt roller) preferredSingle and / or tandem axle dump truck operation experience preferredMust be physically capable of performing all duties relating to the position, including lifting up to 65 lbs., and the ability to bend, climb, stoop, and sit, all multiple times per dayLicenses / Certifications :
Valid Class A CDL preferred.Conditions of Employment :
