Summary:

Tri Star Energy is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Food Service Category Manager to join our innovative Marketing team in our Store Support Center in Nashville, TN. The Food Service Category Manager is responsible for the development and execution of plans for assigned categories within the foodservice area. Creates a differentiated offer driven by product recommendations, optimized product placement, and pricing / promotion activities that maximize guest traffic, sales, and profitability.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes category performance and continuously monitors key metrics such as unit movement, sales and margin to recognize and advise new opportunities.
  • Thoroughly documents recipe, planograms, and process development. Liaises with Training and Operations to facilitate and audit store-level execution for continuous improvement.
  • Monitors supply-chain and inventory health while collaborating with vendor community to achieve in-stock position at all times.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments (e.g., Pricebook team) to ensure proper recipe setup, pricing, and cost management
  • Implement and monitor the execution of food and beverage programs, ensuring high standards in food preparation, portion control, presentation, and cost control.
  • Provide operational support, ensuring food service meets company expectations for quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Store visits to review compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and cost control measures.
  • Effectively partners with Operations and other key stakeholders to ensure all teams play a key part in driving and executing the foodservice plan.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all company, client, employee, and vendor information.
  • Reacts productively to change.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Culinary Sciences, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of prior experience leading foodservice operations from a corporate level.
  • 2 years of experience with marketing and marketing analyses
  • Dispensed Beverage Category Management experience.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage a P&L, with the ability to analyze results, evaluate opportunities to course-correct and enact change.
  • Prior experience in successfully leading the development and implementation of foodservice marketing and merchandising
  • Strong understanding of basic marketing and category management principles, merchandising methods, and consumer psychology
  • Proficient knowledge of all necessary equipment related to foodservice preparation (i.e., roller grills, drink fountains, coffee dispensers, etc.)
  • Or, any equivalent combination of education and experience in job-related activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of prior foodservice operations experience within a corporate setting; prior C-Store industry experience or Fast-Casual Managerial experience is strongly preferred
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Foodservice Management, or a related field
  • At least two (2) years of experience with marketing or analytics
  • Demonstrates proven ability to manage a P&L, with the ability to analyze results, evaluate opportunities to implement ideas and enact change.
  • Strong understanding of marketing and category management principles, merchandising methods, and consumer psychology
  • Proficient knowledge of all necessary equipment related to foodservice preparation (i.e., roller grills, drink fountains, coffee dispensers, etc.)
  • Or, any equivalent combination of education and experience in job-related activities
