We are seeking a talented, outgoing and motivated individual to join our excellent team at Tri Star Freight System Inc. as a Driver Recruiter who will manage the process of recruiting qualified, safe and professional owner operators and company drivers to join our family-owned company. As an incentive for the right individual, we are offering a $50 bonus for each driver (certain conditions apply) that successfully joins our fleet.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Driver Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, processing, and onboarding qualified, safe and professional Class A CDL drivers (company drivers and owner operators) for Tri Star Freight System Inc. (TSFS) and is responsible for following/completing all DOT/TSFS recruiting and hiring compliance and reporting. The Driver Recruiter ensures a steady supply of skilled personnel while representing the company positively to attract top talent. The Driver Recruiter ensures that day to day, the end of the month and annual hiring goals are being met. The Driver Recruiter position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and industry knowledge.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Driver Recruiter reports directly to and is fully accountable to the Director of Safety hereafter referred to as Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:
- Required: A High School Diploma or GED (a bachelor’s degree is a plus)
- Required: Minimum of 2 years of truck driver recruiting experience.
- Required: Proficient computer skills that include Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
- Preferred: Experience working in a transportation or logistics environment and larger company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
- Actively seek out, locate and identify potential Class A CDL drivers who meet DOT and company standards, through various channels (job boards, social media, networking, trucking events, and any other channels assigned by management.)
- Pre-screen and evaluate applications to ensure candidates meet DOT and company standards.
- Help conduct interviews, assessing skills and experience.
- Utilize databases and ATS systems to manage the recruitment process.
- Conduct phone and in-person interviews to assess candidates' suitability.
- Provide information about the company, driving opportunities, and company culture to potential candidates.
- Build rapport with drivers to encourage them to join the company and foster a positive candidate experience.
- Maintain ongoing communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet hiring goals.
- Discuss salary, benefits, and other terms of employment with candidates.
- Ensure all onboarding processes such as paperwork and required trainings are completed on time.
- Handle all pre-employment background checks, drug screen`s, verifications, and ensure new drivers are prepared to start their roles.
- Work with management to ensure that the driver’s needs are met and recruitment efforts are aligned with company goals.
- Schedule driver orientations.
- Stay current on transportation laws, DOT regulations, and company hiring criteria.
- Maintain ongoing communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet hiring goals.
