What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Manager position at Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research, Inc.?
The Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the communications and marketing for the organization. This includes composing and editing a full range of material to effectively support the fundraising goals of the organization and to convey the organization’s mission to diverse constituencies. The Marketing Manager reports to the Executive Director. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist the Executive Director and Development Manager in developing an annual integrated marketing communications plan consistent with the strategic plan
- In coordination with the Executive Director and Development Manager, draft and implement the annual development plan, consistent with the strategic plan.
- Take a lead role in implementing the organization’s messaging and communications strategy for current and prospective supporters.
- Coordinate print communications collateral, including brochures and annual report. Serve as editor of the annual report. Assist with content for quarterly members’ newsletter.
- Provide written content for press releases, brochures, newsletters, and outreach campaigns as needed.
- Manage the web site and regularly update its content; cultivate the organization’s presence via social media channels. Help ensure message consistency across a variety of channels.
- Identify opportunities for public relations growth and assist with the development of strategies to take advantage of these opportunities.
- Assist with execution of special events, fundraising campaigns, and outreach events with a focus on publicity of the event and community relations.
- Assist in tracking and measuring marketing efforts.
- Manage sales of Tri-State’s promotional merchandise (t-shirts, hats, etc) including stocking inventory, ordering and keeping display area tidy.
- Serve as point of contact for cataloging and preserving organization’s archives.
Requirements
- Possess 3-5 years of nonprofit marketing or communications experience.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong copy-writing skills with the ability to create compelling content.
- Strong organizational skills, passion for details, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Experience with website maintenance/design and social media.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with Google tools for analytics and advertising.
- Knowledge of environmental marketing concepts and ornithology preferred.
- Basic graphic design and video editing ability desired.
Salary : $36,000 - $45,000
