Service and Rental Counter Associate Position Summary:
The Equipment Service and Rental Counter Associate is responsible for working with customers to determine their service and repair needs for the multiple lines of equipment the company represents, and advising proper equipment selection for rental transactions. Success in this position requires superior customer service, effective scheduling of work to be completed, maintaining high standards for work completed and prompt and proper processing of invoices. The candidate has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational ability, the ability to respond to numerous requests at one time and having an extensive knowledge of equipment uses and capabilities and excellent attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Service related:
- Consults with customers and creates estimates for necessary equipment service and repair work
- Ensures that customer approves and signs off on details and costs of work to be completed
- Creates work orders and schedules work to be completed
- Monitors progress of work by service technicians and any needed parts orders
- Keeps customers updated as to progress of work and any issues which may arise
- Performs final quality check before customer is notified that work is completed
- Responsible for the prompt and proper processing of all invoices
- Communicates with other departments regularly to ensure any internal work orders are processed as needed
- Responsible for maintaining an organized and clean yard for equipment being serviced
Rental related:
- Provide customers either in-person, on the phone or via email with rental price quotes and equipment availability and capabilities in a friendly and professional manner
- Assist customers with loading and unloading of equipment
- Instruct customers on safe and proper operation of equipment
- Update rentals database to ensure accurate inventory, equipment specifications and pricing
- Maintain rental equipment through inspection after each use and submit service work orders as required
- Maintain company safety standards and rental yard organization and cleanliness
- Willing to participate in all vendor training programs and keep current on new equipment updates
Requirements:
- A minimum of two years' experience in Equipment operations
- Superior customer service skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills
- Skilled in use of MS Office applications
