Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Front and Back Office Medical Assistant to join our growing team. This role is critical in providing excellent patient care and ensuring seamless clinical operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
This ideal candidate is required to work 1-2 Saturday's per month.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Office Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients with professionalism and empathy.
- Schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, and update patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Answer incoming calls, manage patient inquiries, and relay messages to providers and staff.
- Assist with intake paperwork and maintain compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
Back Office Duties:
- Prepare examination rooms by stocking supplies, ensuring cleanliness, and organizing equipment.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Obtain and document vital signs, patient history, and other pertinent medical information.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the provider, ensuring proper documentation.
- Perform basic lab work, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.
- Sterilize instruments, ensure infection control standards, and manage medical supplies inventory.
- Assist with medical documentation, patient follow-ups, and referrals as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Training Program from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting preferred, FQHC experience a plus.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA/RMA) preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems, experience with eClinicalWorks.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, providers, and team members.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
