Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD and material take-offs and will play a crucial role in liaising between the Shop Foreman and General Manager. Additionally, the Estimator will assist in instructing the fabrication team to ensure projects are executed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for structural steel and metal fabrication projects.
• Utilize CAD software to create and review project drawings and specifications.
• Perform material take-offs and request quotes from vendors.
• Liaise between the Shop Foreman and General Manager to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
• Provide guidance and instruction to the fabrication team to ensure adherence to project plans and quality standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, materials, and fabrication techniques.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as an Estimator in the structural steel and metal fabrication industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software and material take-offs.
• Strong understanding of structural steel and metal fabrication processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
