Job Description

Responsible for implementing asset management and asset health strategies for Tri-State's fleet of generation and transmission assets. Work is performed through the development of reports, data visualization platforms, data collection standards, replacement strategies and asset heath indexes. The position also helps to justify asset repair / replacement decisions based on asset health, criticality, and available funding. Interfaces with on / off-site personnel on a regular basis and collaborates with internal subject matter experts to help implement asset management strategies.

Note :

There is one position available and the position will be filled at one of four job grade levels : Transmission and Generation Analyst I, job grade 7; Transmission and Generation Analyst II, job grade 8, Transmission and Generation Analyst III, job grade 9; or Senior Transmission and Generation Analyst, job grade 10. This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected, and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

Senior Transmission and Generation Analyst

Hiring Salary Range : $110,000-151,000

Transmission and Generation Analyst III

Hiring Salary Range : $100,000-$135,000

Transmission and Generation Analyst II

Hiring Salary Range : $86,000-$116,000

Transmission and Generation Analyst I

Hiring Salary Range : $78,000-$105,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and / or skill level.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of criteria to determine asset condition with the aim to extend the life of major components and assets.
  • Assist with the development of data analytics, data visualization and reporting for use in maintenance trending and long-term planning / budgeting.
  • Monitor and report on factors such as condition, cost, performance and remaining useful life of transmission and generation assets.
  • Helps to define health scoring methods and implementation of asset health scoring.
  • Participates in evaluating and implementing technologies and ensures alignment with enterprise strategy and policy.
  • Help to update asset disposition and configuration changes to Tri-State generation and transmission assets and components.
  • Performs in-depth analysis of problems related to transmission and generation assets; identifies appropriate research resources to address and devise solutions and ensures that plans are developed to meet near and long-term strategies.
  • Review existing maintenance standards, and assist in researching, developing and suggesting revisions based on current industry standards, rules and regulations, best practices and field input.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of regulations, laws, standards, and best practices applicable to functional area.
  • Because Tri-State has an obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job.

  • Qualifications

    Education and Training :

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field of study, or an equivalent combination of experience and / or education.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Ability :

  • Experience using software tools to determine asset health and performance.
  • Working knowledge of generation and transmission related assets and components
  • Familiarity with Condition Based Maintenance programs and technology applications.
  • Experience utilizing and maintaining operational data and service histories
  • Effective English communication and technical report writing skills are required.
  • Must be proficient with various software programs and systems (e.g., MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as database use.
  • Must be able to concentrate and understand complicated issues and / or instructions.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision, perform in a team environment, as well as effectively communicate with others.
  • Familiarity of WACS, PowerBase, RTS, Cascade and GIS.
  • Must possess good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Working knowledge of Tri-State's service area and operations.
  • Working knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  • Other :

  • Ability and willingness to travel for training and meetings as necessary. Due to the responsibilities of this position, it may require extensive travel (up to 30%) to collaborate with employees stationed at remote offices. Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate that he / she can perform all of the essential functions of the position.
