The New York Lighting Auditor will play a crucial role in driving projects in support of our New York based clients in the 5 boroughs of the city, the surrounding counties and Long Island. A motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, client focused environment focused on developing quality projects is essential. Your expertise in designing energy efficient lighting specifications through a methodical approach in line with local building local codes is key to the satisfaction of our customers and the growth of the company. A strong lighting background, particularly in municipal buildings and K-12 schools, is required, with a focus on experience in identifying existing lighting & controls systems to recommend the best solutions to maximize efficiencies while maintaining customer expectations. The role demands knowledge of lighting design and current energy codes as they pertain to lighting. This candidate is also cognizant of and safety rules and best practices on job sites. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of aligning execution with business objectives, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, executives, lighting teams and contractors. This position involves room-by-room detailed survey of facilities, data processing, and an understanding of the latest lighting solutions and lighting controls systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working on lighting projects for agencies such as NYPA, NYSERDA, Con-Ed, OGS, DCAS, or similar.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Understanding of systems and processes for tracking projects in facilities, HVAC and lighting, with additional expertise in design-build and audit processes is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial lighting systems.
- Several years of experience in lighting design or demonstration of knowledge to this end.
- Understanding of user-based lighting design, with a focus on customer needs throughout the space.
- Preference for experience building or upgrading lighting and HVAC systems in public facilities.
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Foundational understanding of NYC Local Law 88.
- Ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicles with a valid driver’s license. Must be willing and able to travel within the tri-state area.
- Provide clarity in complex problems, facilitate decision-making, and guide high value investments.
- Strong customer service capability focusing on proactively identifying customer needs and managing customer expectations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter who can work independently or within a team environment.
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and planning skills.
- Interest and experience in energy conservation and engineering a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of client and project management
- Knowledge of DCAS process and procedures a plus.
- Experience with New York City construction
- Awareness of market trends, lighting, construction, and contracting best practices.
- Knowledge of various lighting equipment, lighting controls systems and tools.
- Ability to review requirements, costs, and existing tools, and make recommendations to executive team and then drive solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, etc.
- Being open to feedback and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of NYPA process and procedures a plus.
