Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and compassionate MAVO Medical Driver to join our team at TransUnit, a reputable medical transportation service. As a MAVO Medical Driver, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and timely transportation of patients with walkers and wheelchairs to and from their doctors' appointments. You will play a crucial role in providing essential transportation services to individuals in need, helping them access the medical care they require.
While a Mavo certification is preferred, we welcome applicants with a proven track record of working with young, older, or sick patients. If you possess hands-on experience in a caregiving role and have a deep understanding of the needs of elderly individuals, we encourage you to apply. However, please note that candidates without any medical or doctor office experience will not be considered for this position.
Responsibilities
Safely transport patients with walkers and wheelchairs to and from medical appointments in a courteous and caring manner.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations to ensure the well-being of patients during transit.
Provide assistance to patients as needed when boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.
Attend training sessions to acquire necessary knowledge and skills for solo driving, enabling independent patient transportation after completion.
Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle to uphold a professional and comfortable environment for patients.
Ensure the vehicle is adequately fueled at the end of every shift, ready for the next day's operations.
Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and other relevant data for reporting and administrative purposes.
Demonstrate excellent time management skills to adhere to scheduled appointment times while accounting for potential traffic or route challenges.
Communicate effectively with the dispatch team to receive trip assignments, updates, and any changes in the schedule.
Provide exceptional customer service by showing empathy, patience, and respect towards patients during interactions.
Handle any unexpected situations, such as vehicle malfunctions or patient emergencies, with composure and quick decision-making.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards regarding patient information.
Requirements

Excellent driving skills and a strong sense of responsibility for passenger safety.
Ability to lift and maneuver wheelchairs and walkers, ensuring patients are safely secured during transport.
