Labor & Delivery RN – 13-Week Assignment – Bismarck, ND

Shifts: 12-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend, every other holiday
- Nights or rotating day/night shifts
Location Requirement: Must reside more than 80 miles from the facility – no local candidates accepted
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for labor and delivery patients, including high-risk cases
- Assist during deliveries and provide postpartum care for mothers and babies
- Care for gynecological surgical post-op patients
Equipment & Charting Systems:
- Fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, vital sign monitors
- OBIX documentation and centralized monitoring for L&D
- EPIC charting for GYN patients
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and GYN care
- Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS (STABLE preferred but not required)
- Skills: Proficiency in fetal monitoring, postpartum care, and surgical post-op care
Schedule & Floating Requirements:
- Shifts: 12-hour nights with some days; weekends required
- Floating: Expected to assist with newborn nursery and NICU as needed
Unit Details:
- Bed Count: 19
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- Labor & Delivery: 1:1 or 1:2
- Mom/Baby Couplet Care: 1:3
- GYN Surgical Patients: 1:4
- Combination of mom/babies and GYN: 1:5-6
Dress Code:
- GYN & Mom/Baby: Navy blue scrubs
- Labor & Delivery: Hospital-provided scrubs
Training & Orientation:
- 36-hour orientation program for travel nurses
