Job Summary:
The Coding employee, under the direction of the Coding Manager, is responsible for the accuracy and timely coding of office charges. Regular attendance is an essential part of this job. Candidate must be available to come on-site for 90-day training period. Candidate must live within a 30-mile radius of Evansville, IN to attend in-person training, company meetings as necessary, and work in office on Wednesday.
Essential Functions:
1.) Post office charges, injections, EMG, MRI, U/S, surgeries, and therapy charges
2.) Check office charges for accuracy
3.) Review physician documentation
Additional Responsibilities:
1.) Cover for associates when on vacation, leave, etc.
2.) Answer questions for various departments

Job Qualifications:
1.) Familiar with the review of physician documentation
2.) Familiar with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
3.) Knowledge of insurance company rules
4.) Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and ability to learn new computer programs
5.) Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, management and other staff.
6.) Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide range of people.
7.) Certified Medical Coder or Certified Professional Coder or commitment to obtain coding certification with one year of hire.
