Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, a well-respected and busy orthopaedic practice, is recruiting for an enthusiastic full-time Surgery Pre-Authorization/Billing Specialist to join the Billing Department of their North Hills Office.
Responsibilities include: Verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits, obtaining surgical authorizations, entering surgery charges into the billing system, providing patient education regarding benefits and coverage, keeping detailed documentation in patients accounts, assisting Providers and Staff Practice-wide with authorization-related issues, providing hospital facilities with related surgery authorization information, providing coverage/cross-training within the Billing Department, and miscellaneous billing-related tasks.
Qualifications: Possession of excellent customer service and communication skills via telephone is a must. Demonstration of the ability to work with others in various Departments as well as independently, possession of strong computer skills and the ability to stay organized with a positive and upbeat attitude. CPT/ICD-10 knowledge and insurance experience also required. Customer service, authorizations, insurance eligibility and verification, and billing or related medical experience is preferred.
New graduates are welcome.
Work onsite initially with hybrid potential after six months.
