Cummins Certified Technician
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cummins Certified Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Cummins engines and related systems, ensuring optimal performance, maintenance, and repair of Cummins-powered heavy and medium-duty vehicles. As a certified technician, you will need to know how to diagnose, service, and troubleshoot complex engine issues. The role requires a high level of technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services on Cummins engines and related systems, including fuel, air, exhaust, and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot and identify mechanical, electrical, and software issues in Cummins engines and associated equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repair procedures on Cummins equipment to ensure proper functionality and also other International Navistar engines (training provided).
- Provide technical support to customers and collaborate with other technicians and team members to resolve complex issues.
- Update and maintain accurate service records and work orders for each service performed.
- Install, inspect, and calibrate equipment and engines according to Cummins specifications.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Cummins technology, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Cummins certification (must be current).
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or education is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working on Cummins engines and systems.
- Strong knowledge of Cummins diesel engines.
- Proficient in using Cummins diagnostic tools and software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Aftertreatment system
- Previous experience in a service or repair shop environment.
- Experience with Allison and Eaton transmission.
- Experience with Bendix and Wabco brake systems and related components.
- CDL class A or B with a clean driving record or able to obtain a CDL.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds).
- Must be able to work in a variety of environments, including outdoor settings, and be comfortable with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a seated or standing position for extended periods.
