POSITION SUMMARY:
The Procurement Specialist will work closely with all supply chain team members to ensure parts arrive from vendors as required for production, maintenance of machines, and manufacturing supplies with proper documentation to support continuous production flow. This position will manage Outside Service Vendor (OSV) and consult with the Technical Procurement Manger when necessary. The Procurement Specialist will work with other Procurement Specialist on the purchase of off-the-shelf parts, solicit their help with OSV and assign requisitions/projects when necessary. This is a full-time hourly position located in Rancho Cordova, CA and reports to the Head of Operations.
Requirements
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1.*Manage the scheduling and coordinating of shipments of parts with “Outside Process Vendors” (Heat Treat, Plating, Grinding, Paint, Gear Cutting and other related vendors), consulting with the Technical Procurement Manager and Head of Operations on time and process for critical parts.
2.*Responsible for understanding and maintaining accurate data in Tri Tool’s ERP system
3.*Manage, assign, and maintain the requisition log, assuring timely procurement of required supplies.
4.*Purchase fabricated parts.
5.*Manage all aspects of relationship with assigned vendors to include: cost, lead-time, terms, invoicing, and supply flow.
6.*Work with engineers to help research potential sources, arrange supplier meetings, procure parts, and form vendor relationships.
7.*Coordinate project and service requirements, consulting with the TPM when necessary.
8.*Document procedures and work instructions as assigned by Technical Procurement Manager.
9.*Identify, qualify and develop new OSV suppliers.
10. Deliver and pick up required parts, as needed.
12. Assists with annual physical inventory.
13. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
· Direct experience in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management.
· Experience/knowledge in raw material selection preferred.
· Highly organized with demonstrated high proficiency in ERP systems.
· Experience in lean/continuous improvement concepts is strongly desired.
· Strong oral and written communication skills to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.
· Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, detail-orientation and negotiating skills a must.
· Knowledge of ERP purchasing, materials and supply chain functions.
· Strong professional interpersonal and leadership skills, driven, self-managed and results oriented.
· Ability to comply with existing processes, help identify and adapt quickly to new processes.
· Effective communication skills and ethical standards to articulate, enforce, and adhere to policies and procedures.
· Knowledge of MS Office applications; with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability in making good decisions.
· Team player with strong customer-focus and ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
· Able to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in order to meet established deadlines.
· Willingness to listen and learn, then express ideas for improvement.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· 3 to 5 years of experience in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or GED; College degree highly preferred in related field.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without accommodations:

• Lifting and moving boxes weighing up to 35 pounds

• Utilizing keyboard

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office as well as a manufacturing and warehouse environment. May be exposed to noise from equipment.
