Job DescriptionTitle: Lunch/Recess MonitorReports To: PrincipalEvaluated By: PrincipalPosition Function/Job Purpose: Ensures a safe, pleasant and effective atmosphere during the lunch and recess periods. Enforces school policy and behavior management practices. Qualifications: Experience working with elementary aged children.Willingness to support the schools mission and vision. Ability to maintain student confidentiality.
The successful candidate will have: Skills to manage students during lunch and recess periods. Knowledge of conflict resolution and the schools policy and procedures around student behavior. Dispositions include providing consistent, fair and policy-based direction to students; maintain confidential and sensitive information; communicate effectively with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds; communicate in oral and written form.Essential Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesSupervises lunch and recess periods. Establishes and maintains a positive climate during lunch.Participates in principals staff meetings and such other meetings as are required or appropriate.Keeps the Teachers and/or Principal informed of issues that may arise during lunch or recess.Maintains confidentiality of all student information.
Follows the school-wide behavior plan.Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.Work Environment: Be able to work in a close environmentBe able to work in moderately noisy environmentBe able to handle frequent interruptionsPhysical Requirements: Ability to lift 25 lbs.Be physically and emotionally capable of carrying-out responsibilities and duties in a busy, computerized environment.
