Job Title: ASME Vessel Welder/Fitter
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Location: Kilgore, Texas
Position Overview
Tri-W Global is seeking to hire full-time ASME Vessel Welder/Fitter. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM with occasional evenings, weekends and extended work hours based on workload. This position requires frequent heavy work and exposure to elements typically found in a fabrication or manufacturing shop environment. Pay is commensurate with experience.
General Responsibilities
• Contribute and participate in safe work practices and safely perform all job duties and daily housekeeping of workspaces
• Operate and safely perform overhead crane operation and other job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
• Must be able to operate cutting/heating torches and various other pieces of equipment for extended periods of time.
• Ability to check tolerances of fits and effectively take corrective actions in accordance with pertinent codes and specifications
• Produce finished products that meet recognized standards, codes, and customer expectations by maintaining quality procedures & practices that are within the AWS D1.5 fitting tolerances guideline.
• Follow all procedures, guidelines, and all company policies.
• Must be willing to support all shop improvement and safety initiatives to achieve business objectives.
Requirements
• Read and interpret weld symbols on shop drawings/prints and be able to apply the information accordingly
• Must pass any or all weld tests (e.g., GMAW, FACW and SMAW) given
• Strong consideration will be given to applicants with the ability to arc gouge, nozzle weld and fit
• ASME certified applicants will be given priority consideration
• One to two years of pipe or vessel welding experience is required; three or more years of experience is desirable.
• Ability to layout, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of pipe metal products in accordance with blueprints, layout specifications and ASME codes and standards
• Applicants must pass all pre-employment screening and background checks.
