Job Title: Welder
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Location: Kilgore, Texas
Position Overview
Tri-W Global is seeking to hire full-time Structural Welders. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 6am to 6pm with occasional evenings, weekends and extended work hours based on workload. This role will require frequent heavy lifting work and exposure to elements typically found in a fabrication or manufacturing shop environment. Pay is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
• Have a positive demeanor and be able to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a positive manner.
• Safely perform all job duties and daily housekeeping of work spaces.
• Perform basic crane operation and other job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
• Must be able to operate cutting/heating torches and various other pieces of equipment for extended periods of time.
• Ability to check tolerances of fits and perform corrective actions in accordance with pertinent codes and specifications with minimal assistance.
• Produce finished products that meet recognized standards, codes and customer expectations by maintaining quality procedures & practices that are within the AWS D1.5 fitting tolerances guideline.
• Comply with all procedures, guidelines and company policies.
• Support and participate in company and safety initiatives to achieve business objectives.
Requirements
The skills, abilities and experience typically required to successfully perform this role includes, but is not limited to, the following;
• reading and interpreting weld symbols on shop drawings/prints and applying the information accordingly,
• passing a preliminary weld test (e.g. GMAW, FACW and SMAW),
• being familiar with the arc gouging process
• having at least one to two years of welding experience,
• be able to layout, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of pipe metal products in accordance with blueprints, layout specifications and ASME codes and standards,
• ability to weld nozzles, stack beads and/or cut bevels is desirable
• be able to pass all pre-employment screening and background checks
