Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cable Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various cabling systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. There will be fiber as well. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical systems and networking principles, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot cabling systems for telecommunications and data networks.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to complete installations efficiently.
- Conduct tests using voltmeters and other diagnostic equipment to ensure proper functionality of cable installations.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their needs and provide tailored solutions for network installation.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on existing cabling systems.
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all installation processes.
Skills
- Proficient in the use of voltmeters and other electrical testing equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring and circuit design.
- Familiarity with Ethernet technology and computer networking principles.
- Experience in cabling techniques for both voice (telephone) and data applications.
- Mechanical knowledge to understand equipment operations and troubleshooting methods.
- Previous experience as a service technician is a plus.
- Ability to work with various hand tools effectively and safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
