What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bone Densitometry Technician position at Tria Orthopedics?
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
Performs high quality bone densitometry procedures in accordance with established protocols. Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner. Applies knowledge of radiation protection, emergency protocols and procedures, and proper equipment utilization to maximize safety in the work environment.
Work Schedule:
M-F Full time days
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited medical assistant or related program.
- ISCD (International Society for Clinical Densitometry) certification required or must be obtained within a year from the start date.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of anatomy, radiographic positioning, and proper application of radiographic principles.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to problem solve and use independent judgment are also required.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
- Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Densitometer, positioning table, Epic, fax machine, and photocopier.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One or more years’ experience in bone densitometry preferred.
