Job Description:
Tria Pharmacy is seeking an experienced and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team, specializing in long-term care pharmacy. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, with a strong understanding of insurance billing, and pharmacy regulations specific to long-term care environments.
As a Pharmacy Technician at Tria Pharmacy, you will play a vital role in supporting the safe and effective medication management for long-term care patients. You will collaborate closely with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure the highest level of care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications for long-term care facilities, ensuring the correct medications and dosages are provided.
- Verify prescription orders and ensure all medications comply with long-term care regulations.
- Maintain and update patient medication profiles, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with pharmacy standards.
- Process and manage insurance claims, including the verification of coverage, submission of claims, and resolution of billing issues.
- Work with third-party payers to resolve insurance-related inquiries and disputes.
- Ensure all pharmacy operations are compliant with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other relevant guidelines.
- Assist with medication inventory management, including ordering, restocking, and organizing medications.
- Maintain accurate medication records and assist with medication delivery to facilities on time.
- Participate in quality assurance and safety initiatives to optimize patient care and reduce medication errors.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a pharmacy technician role, with at least 2 years of experience in long-term care pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of insurance billing processes, including experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance providers.
- Solid understanding of pharmacy regulations for long-term care, including guidelines related to dispensing, medication management, and compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling medications and patient information.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Certification as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
