Our well-established, very successful client is seeking an early-career Project Engineer to join their dynamic team in the Greater Boston area. The Project Engineer will provide technical expertise for all aspects of product development and engineering support activities; analyze project requirements and organize work to meet objectives and schedules on time and within budget; and work with Marketing and Manufacturing to develop product concepts, specifications, development plans, and reliable manufacturing methods.
Examples of Projects and Responsibilities :
- Use design engineering skills to develop solutions to company and customer technical problems and opportunities.
- Prepare project requirements, conduct risk assessment and manufacturability analysis to implement those solutions.
- Participate on development teams, providing technical input.
- Determine design strategies, performance requirements, technical approaches, cost estimates, test methods, and project scheduling.
- Oversee and administer product development and qualification testing.
- Communicate technical risks and opportunities.
- Manage product Agency approval projects.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure that designs are consistent with product fabrication and assembly cost targets. May develop test methods and fixturing.
- Assist with the definition of production requirements such as test fixtures, procedures and processes.
- Generate and maintain product design and development records in accordance with company design control standards.
- Conduct Engineering design reviews.
- Prepare product functional specifications.
- Assist Marketing in the development of concepts, definitions and specifications for new products of routine to moderate complexity and may interface with customers to support Sales efforts.
- Prepare product Installation and Maintenance instructions.
- Investigate, prepare, and implement engineering changes.
- Provide product or technical training to company personnel, distributors, and customers.
