Family Support Worker

TRIAD FAMILY SERVICES FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER

CLASSIFICATION: ON-CALL HOURLY NON-EXEMPT REPORTS TO: OFFICE SUPERVISOR

As an integral part of Triad’s foster care team, the On-call Family Support Worker, shall be responsible for the following duties which may include:

DUTIES:

1. Transport children to appointments, in coordination with the Resource Family, Social Worker and approved by the Supervisor.

2. Supervise visits between children and their biological family, as approved by Supervisor.

3. Complete the Supervised Visitation Contact Note within 24 hours of supervised visit and submit by e-mail to Triad Social Worker and Supervisor.

4. Report any special incident(s) concerning youth immediately to the Social Worker/Supervisor.

5. Meet as needed with Supervisor to review schedule and be assigned other office duties as needed.

6. Meet the minimum program training (orientation and in-service) requirements for the Family

Support Worker, in addition to individual training and consultation with the Social Worker andSupervisor as needed.

7. Respond to emergencies or crises, as requested by the Supervisor.

8. Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate’s degree in the behavioral/social sciences from an accredited college is desirable.

Training and Experience: A minimum of one year of direct experience working with emotionally disturbed children/youth is required. Must possess a sincere interest in young people, advocate for the welfare of youth, have an ability to understand and help resolve problems of special needs children and their families.

Must be proficient in the use of computers, including Outlook E-mail and Microsoft Word.

Personal Qualifications: Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing inEnglish. Must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license; car insurance, a clean DMV record, be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by Triad’s insurance carrier. Must be able to pass a physical examination; drug clearance; criminal background check; Child

Abuse Index check. In all cases, he/she should fulfill the general requirements as established in theCalifornia Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 6, Chapter 8.8, Section 88065.2

Physical Qualifications: Must have the ability to physically supervise, confront and observe children.Must be able to life 40 pounds of weight, and possess the body flexibility to perform the following: bending, reaching, stooping, standing, walking, driving for extended periods of time, and must be physically able to sit and to operate a computer and/or other office equipment for extended periods of time.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the agency may find appropriate.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of thePersonnel Policy Manual.
