The Mortgage Operations Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality control processes within the mortgage operations team, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. This role will play a critical part in identifying operational inefficiencies, recommending improvements, and driving consistency in the execution of mortgage processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage operations, quality assurance, and leadership, with the ability to manage a team, assess risk, and improve overall performance.
Essential Functions :
- Quality Assurance Management :
Lead the quality control efforts for mortgage operations, ensuring adherence to industry regulations, internal standards, and best practices. Review and audit loan files, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.
Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to enhance team capabilities and ensure high levels of productivity and accuracy.
Identify areas for operational improvements by analyzing current processes, recommending enhancements, and driving initiatives to reduce errors, improve turnaround times, and enhance the customer experience.
Ensure that all mortgage operations are in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. Identify potential risks and proactively implement measures to mitigate them.
Analyze reporting and metrics related to quality control processes. Regularly present findings to senior management, highlighting key trends, areas of concern, and suggested corrective actions.
Work closely with other departments including underwriting, processing, compliance, and legal to address issues related to mortgage quality, ensure smooth workflow, and provide guidance on improving processes and ensuring adherence to policies.
Conduct regular audits of mortgage files, workflows, and system data to ensure compliance with established guidelines. Provide regular feedback to teams to drive continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
Schedule ongoing training sessions for staff on quality control best practices, new regulations, and any updates to internal policies or industry guidelines.
