Position Overview
QC Manager to lead and oversee the quality control processes for our closing and funding operations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of the mortgage industry, closing documentation, and funding procedures. The QC Manager will ensure that all funding transactions are compliant with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, while maintaining a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control Oversight:
Lead the QC team in reviewing closing and funding files for compliance with internal policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Ensure all required documentation is accurately completed and properly executed. - Transaction Audits:
Conduct detailed audits of loan closing and funding packages to identify discrepancies or errors. Provide feedback and corrective action recommendations to the relevant departments. - Regulatory Compliance:
Stay current on all federal, state, and local regulations impacting mortgage closing and funding, including RESPA, TRID, and state-specific requirements. Ensure the closing and funding processes adhere to all applicable laws. - Process Improvement:
Develop and implement strategies to improve quality control processes, streamline workflows, and increase overall efficiency. Work closely with operations, underwriting, and legal teams to resolve issues and enhance closing and funding timelines. - Training & Development:
Provide training and ongoing development to QC staff on the latest regulatory updates, industry trends, and best practices. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. - Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare and present regular reports on QC findings, audit results, and process improvements to senior management. Maintain detailed records of audits, findings, and corrective actions for future reference. - Issue Resolution:
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, errors, and issues identified during the QC process, working with closing, funding, and legal teams to ensure timely and accurate resolution. - Collaboration:
Partner with cross-functional teams including Underwriting, Closing, Operations, and Legal to ensure smooth execution of loan closings and funding. Provide support and guidance to other departments on QC-related matters.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage closing, funding, or quality control, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of the mortgage industry, specifically closing, funding, and post-closing processes.
Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to analyze complex documents.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with various teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in mortgage software and tools (e.g., Encompass, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with investor guidelines.
- Knowledge of post-closing review and audit processes.
