What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Wood Mill Lead position at Triad Manufacturing, Inc.?
Hours: Monday - Thursday 5:00 pm to 5:00 am and Friday 2:00 pm to 2:00 am
Triad Manufacturing is looking for a motivated and experienced Mill Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of our milling department. The Mill Lead will ensure that production schedules are met efficiently, oversee a team of operators, and maintain high standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and supervise the milling team, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
• Set up, operate, and monitor milling equipment, ensuring optimal machine performance.
• Train and mentor mill operators on equipment use, safety procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with supervisors and management to adjust production processes and schedules as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections of machines and finished products to ensure quality control.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or process issues, working with the maintenance team when necessary.
• Ensure all employees follow safety protocols and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain accurate records of production, machine maintenance, and downtime.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Mill Lead, Mill Operator, or in a similar manufacturing role.
• In-depth knowledge of milling equipment, tools, and processes. (e.g. Panel Saw, Edge Bander, CNC Routers, Dowel Machine, Table saw, Shapers, Jointers, Planers, Wide belt sander, Cold press panel processes, etc.)
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and production schedules.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials.
