About the role
- As a developer, you will play a pivotal role in working alongside our digital specialists to build and maintain websites for our financial planning clients (Members) and their target audience. Your primary focus lies in the technical aspects of website creation, ensuring functionality, usability and performance. You will work closely with our Members and key internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives, translating them into functional and visually appealing websites.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with digital specialists and coordinators to create user-friendly interfaces and engaging digital experiences that align with brand guidelines and enhance user interaction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (using unique perspectives), including brand, communication and design specialists as well as other stakeholders, to understand and deliver on project requirements
- Regularly write clean, efficient code using languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript to implement website designs and ensure a seamless user experience across different devises and browsers
- See the website development process through from end-to-end to ensure a quality, functional final product
- Proficiently and strategically use HTML to achieve graphical and functional effects on the web pages of our Members
- Build server-side applications and databases using languages like PHP, Python, or Node.js to handle dynamic content, user authentication and data management
- Proficiently and strategically use open-source programming languages such as PHP, ASP, Java or C
- Proficiently and strategically use JavaScript to make the web pages of our Members interactive
- Integrate content management systems (CMSs) such as WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal to empower members to update and manage website content easily
- Proficiently and strategically access relational databases with MySQL to manage the online content of our Members’ websites
- Optimize website performance by implementing techniques such as caching minification, and lazy loading to improve loading speed and user experience
- Ensure websites are responsive and mobile-friendly, adapting layout and content to different screen sizes and devices to provide a consistent experience
- Regularly conduct thorough testing and debugging of websites to identify and fix any issues related to functionality, performance or compatibility
- Continually assess and audit Triad built digital assets to ensure consistency, quality and accuracy of our tools
- Regularly conduct A/B testing and analyze performance metrics to iterate and optimize digital assets for improved engagement and conversion rates
- Regularly demonstrate agile and test-driven development best practices
- Implement security measures such as SSL certificates, firewalls, and secure coding practices to protect websites from cyber threats and data breaches
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support services, including software updates, security patches, and troubleshooting, to ensure websites remain secure, function, and up-to-date
- Regularly use data and industry trends to guide conversations and decisions
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using quality control, high attention to detail and deadline accountability
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills that lead to accurate understanding of project requirements and timelines; provide updates regularly
- Promote good communication between the front- and back-end website design process to avoid any costly delays
- Successfully create and regularly implement processes based on a foundation of transparency, collaboration and detail
- Initiate brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas for digital solutions that can benefit our member base
- Demonstrate ability to navigate complex business concepts during Member interaction via excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Regularly deploy decision-making tactics to ensure project efficiencies while simultaneously meeting member needs and intrateam professionalism
- Basic understanding of regulatory, legal and compliance requirements within the independent financial advisory space
- Confidently and effectively present/pitch new ideas to internal teams and members
- Support fellow developers in management of projects for members
Qualifications
- Experience (3 years) as a mid-level or junior web developer on multiple brands
- BS in computer science or related field
- Mid-level developing/coding experience that demonstrates creativity, quality and efficiency
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Passionate and proficient in time management and quality control
- Proficient in Microsoft (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Proficient in WordPress and Elementor (or similar)
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Proficient in front-end JavaScript frameworks such as Vue, React, and Angular and back-end frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Node.js, and ASP.NET
- Knowledgeable about content management systems (CMSs) such as WordPress, Joomla, and Squarespace
- Working knowledge of graphic design
- REST API development
