About the role
- As a Videographer, you play a crucial role in producing visual content by combining creative and technical skills to capture, edit, and produce videos and imagery. You will be responsible for planning and executing all aspects of video and photo shoots, catering to internal brand initiatives and financial planning clients (members). Acting as a strategist, you will conduct necessary consumer and market research and collaborate with clients and team members to conceptualize and storyboard ideas, ensuring that the final product aligns with the project’s goals and vision. You will also be responsible for fulfilling post-production tasks, requiring both technical proficiency and storytelling expertise.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define media vision and project requirements; must be proficient in discovery techniques to uncover media goals and expectations.
- Strategically plan and effectively communicate video concepts, storyboards, and shot lists, demonstrating best practices and rationale.
- Collaborate with colleagues in design, communications and digital teams to ideate, develop and propose media concepts.
- Plan, shoot and edit video content and images for various platforms, including websites, social media, and other digital marketing outlets/campaigns.
- Assist in budgeting and resource planning for video and photography projects, ensuring cost-effective production while maintaining quality standards.
- Manage the ordering, testing, operation, and maintenance of both company-owned and rental video and photography equipment, demonstrating an intermediate to advanced technical understanding of its use and upkeep.
- Manage and lead teams of media contractors and collaborators during events or client production shoots.
- Maintain industry-leading quality standards for all visual and audio content, ensuring alignment with brand identity, media initiatives, and intended audience.
- Maintain well-structured and organized file systems, oversee project asset management, and utilize proper backup procedures of all media to safeguard content.
- Utilize data and industry trends to guide media decisions and strategies.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using quality control, high attention to detail and deadline accountability.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills that lead to accurate understanding of project requirements and timelines; provide updates regularly.
- Establish and refine processes based on transparency, collaboration, and meticulous detail.
- Initiate brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas for media initiatives and projects that can benefit the brand.
- Demonstrate ability to navigate complex business concepts during stakeholder interactions via excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Regularly deploy decision-making tactics to ensure project efficiencies while simultaneously meeting team member needs and intrateam professionalism.
- Basic understanding of regulatory, legal and compliance requirements within the independent financial advisory space.
- Confidently and effectively present or pitch new ideas to internal teams.

Qualifications
- Proven experience (3 years) in videography and video production.
- BA in Film, Video Production, Media Arts, or related field preferred.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Strong creative and technical skills with a passion for visual storytelling.
- Effective time management and quality control abilities.
- Passionate and proficient in time management and quality control.
- Proficient in Microsoft (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Proficient in DaVinci Resolve or extensive expertise in other industry-standard NLEs.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Fundamentals of 2D motion graphic design in After Effects.
- Lightroom Classic RAW photo editing.
- Photoshop proficiency.
- Fundamental understanding of Illustrator and vector art principles.
- Technical proficiency with cinema and mirrorless camera systems, as well as strong understanding of natural and artificial lighting techniques for various shooting environments.
- Proficient in color grading and understanding of color-managed workflows.
- Comprehensive understanding of sound design and audio editing.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed, particularly for travel-related projects, client productions, and event coverage.
