Position Title: Database Administrator
Overall Assignment Description:
The Database Administrator plays a key role in leading the Foundation GEOINT Standards (FGS) database management efforts and supporting the FGS-DPS Cloud buildout. This position involves managing database migration, performing database edits and reporting, administering relational databases, and integrating APIs with user interface (UI) development in a cloud-based DevOps environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support the Source Foundation GEOINT (SF) Standards Team in developing and maintaining a scalable, reliable, and cloud-based database infrastructure to support mission-critical applications.

Contribute to defining the FGS DevOps and cloud modernization strategy, enabling a data-driven, symbology-focused online presence through CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.

Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless API integration between internal and external systems, enhancing system interoperability and data access.

Attend and actively participate in the Defense Geospatial Information Working Group (DGIWG) technical meetings, contributing to the advancement of international symbology standards.

Manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively, working both independently and as a technical leader within a multifaceted development environment.

Serve as a liaison between government and contractor teams, demonstrating adaptability, initiative, and strong communication skills.

Work closely with international partners, supporting both remote and in-person collaboration as needed.

Translate customer data requirements into actionable solutions, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and technical standards.

Maintain project progress and visibility using Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Redmine, or similar project management platforms.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with 6 years of experience in Database Administration, Systems Engineering, Systems Integration, or Web Development; or equivalent senior-level experience.

Must have a TS/SCI

Minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years supporting NGA or Intelligence Community (IC) programs.

Proficiency in Linux, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and LAMP stack (PHP/Python).

Experience with SQL, HTML5, and JavaScript.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced development environment.
Desired Skills and Experience:

Familiarity with NGA and DGIWG Data Product Specifications and standards.

Understanding of Global, Regional, Local, and Urban/Specialized (GRLS) topographic data stores.

Experience with cloud-native or DevOps platforms and tools, such as GitLab, Jenkins, PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry), and AWS.

Knowledge of cloud service models, including PaaS and DBaaS.
-
Prior experience supporting high-visibility National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) programs.
