Overview: We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer who is passionate about building, optimizing, and managing cutting-edge cloud infrastructures. In this role, you'll define implementation strategies, ensure optimal cloud performance and reliability, and provide engineering insights that ensure a six-sigma level of reliability across servers, networks, and related systems. As a key team member, you will guide junior engineers while also contributing to continuous improvements in cloud performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cloud technologies and platforms for mission-critical solutions, applying a systematic, engineering-driven approach.
- Leverage cloud services (software, platform, and infrastructure-as-a-service) to deliver exceptional GEOINT solutions.
- Continuously optimize cloud service utilization for maximum efficiency and scalability.
- Lead and mentor Mid- and Junior-level Cloud Engineers to enhance their skills and drive team success.
- Regularly monitor cloud performance, utilization, and provide reports with actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Ensure cloud infrastructure meets the highest standards of reliability and resiliency.
Skills and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM discipline. Alternatively, relevant additional experience is acceptable.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in cloud-based systems engineering, with a focus on government or industry-leading cloud engineering projects.
- A Cloud certification from one or more of the following (or equivalent):
- AWS Certified
- Cisco Certified Network Associate – Cloud
- Cisco Certified Network Professional – Cloud
- IBM Certified Cloud Solution Architect
- MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP7-CMA)
Desired:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
- Expertise or certification in Citrix XenApp.
- Experience in scripting/automation using PowerShell, VBScript, AutoIT, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with SAN storage infrastructure (EMC preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Clustering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL (installation, configuration, troubleshooting).
- Previous experience with NGA, NSG/ASG programs, or work on IC/DoD projects.
