Description
The Electrical/Mechanical Sub-Assembler will work with the department manager to ensure orders are fulfilled with the highest level of quality and on time based on assembly estimates. Applicant will have experience in electrical and mechanical assemblies with a preferred experience in assembly of industrial machinery utilizing various hand and power tools. Be able to wire motors, heaters, cable gland connectors, and soldering electrical connectors. Must be able to read mechanical and schematic drawings with the capability to trouble shooting electrical/mechanical parts and assemblies to resolve issues. Also utilize sophisticated measuring instruments, fixtures, and gauges to verify conformance of parts and where needed, perform necessary alignment of parts and assemblies to meet drawing. Must have experience with 480V-110VAC & 24VDC and knowledge of electrical and mechanical principals.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, specifications, and parts lists.
- Assemble and wire components by mechanically fastening parts and wiring per schematic.
- Be able to read work orders and bills of materials.
- Perform a wide variety of electrical-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies.
- Performs assembly tasks such as but not limited to potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bond, curing, stamping and color coding.
- Positions and aligns jigs and fixtures to maximize efficiency and quality.
- Crimps, stakes, screws, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits or similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
- Collaborate with Manager to prioritize work orders and meet production end dates.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Build positive relationships within departments.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may vary based upon department or order requirements.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience:
The right candidate for this position will exhibit the following traits:
- Preferred candidate to have minimum 5-year experience of machine sub-assemblies.
- A strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to follow good electrical practices.
- Experience with hand tools such as ratchets, wrenches, pneumatic operated tools and electrical wiring tools.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings as well as electrical schematics.
- Be able to navigate Aras and BC to gather information
- Excellent written and oral communication skills: Able to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization with the ability to identify and clarify missing information or unclear requirements proactively.
- Proficiency with MS office products (Excel, OneNote, Word…etc.)
