Job Summary: The Laser Operator's primary responsibility is to laser-cut quality flat and rotary die boards and to perform regular maintenance on the laser cutting machines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities-Additional duties may be assigned
- Prepare flat and rotary die boards by reviewing work orders, specifications ,and blueprints
- Verify CAD files match customer order requirements
- Test burn tolerances and make required adjustments to machine settings
- Check the color-coded pens and pointages on the computer
- Change gas levels and replace tanks when needed
- Cleaning machine optics and general housekeeping of work area
- Identify nonconforming material during inspection activities and issue RMA requests
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Documents actions by completing production, quality and maintenance logs
- Document processing time on job cards and in CyFrame
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Not a complete list
- High School graduate or GED Equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32"
- Practical understanding of manufacturing, equipment and workflow
- Minimal knowledge of power tool operations
- Basic computer knowledge
- Works independently
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for duration of shift
- Frequently walking back and forth between departments
- Must be able to hear to listen to instructions
- Frequently lifting/carrying die boards (50 pounds)
- Must be able to distinguish between colors
