DISC Surgery Center is seeking a full-time OR RN for our new location in Tarzana, CA. This location will have three ORs and specialize in orthopedic, spinal and pain management surgeries. This position requires availability Monday - Friday.
In this position, you will:
- Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to gather patient history, identify potential risks, and ensure proper preparation for surgery.
- Serve as the patient advocate throughout the surgical experience, ensuring effective communication and addressing patient concerns.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for each procedure, ensuring proper equipment, supplies, and instrumentation are available.
- Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile field and providing continuous patient monitoring.
- Administer medications and assist the anesthesia team as needed.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team to facilitate a smooth and efficient operation.
- Accurately document all aspects of the surgical process, including patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile surgical environment.
- Monitor patients during the immediate postoperative period, providing post-anesthesia care and managing any complications that may arise.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of patient outcomes and safety protocol
Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- Current BCLS, ACLS and PALS Certification
- Total joint, Orthopedic and robotics experience preferred!
Pay Range: $55.00 - 65.00/hour
