Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the safe transition of patients from anesthesia to recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor post-operative patients' conditions and manage their pain levels
- Assess patients' vital signs and airways post-surgery
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Valid RN license and BLS certification
- Previous experience in PACU, ICU, or critical care setting preferred
- Proficiency in airway management and post-anesthesia recovery
- Experience with administering injections and medications
- Knowledge of medical office standards and electronic health records systems like Athenahealth
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Experience in behavioral health, occupational health, or primary care is a plus
- Comfort working with children in a healthcare setting
