Position Overview

Job Title : Medical Director
Location : Kenai, AK, USA
Department : Primary Care
Employment Status : Full Time, Exempt
Reports to : Director of Health Systems

Key Responsibilities

60% administrative oversight of clinical aspects

40% direct patient care (panel not to exceed 480 patients)

Clinical leadership and administrative decision-making

Oversight of Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and RN Supervisor

Participation in quality care initiatives and accreditation activities

Collaboration with other service lines for holistic patient care

Oversight of vaccine program and peer review activities

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree

Current Alaska Licensure as MD or DO

Current DEA certificate and BLS certification

7-10 years of Family Practice experience

Medical management experience

Experience in cross-cultural healthcare settings preferred

Skills and Attributes

Understanding of quality improvement methods

Strong leadership and team-building approach

Public health training and / or experience

Excellent communication skills

Knowledge of healthcare accreditation standards

Working Conditions

Medium work (lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally)

Exposure to biohazards (Category I - routine exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue)

Local, in-state, and out-of-state travel may be required
