Job Summary : The Optometrist is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of clinical services to our patients. Optometrist examines patients eyes, test their sight, give advice on visual problems and prescribe and fit spectacles or contact lenses when needed. The Optometrist is trained to recognize diseases of the eye, such as glaucoma and cataracts, as well as general health conditions such as diabetes. The Optometrist will refer to the medical practitioners, when necessary, as well as sometimes sharing the care of patients with chronic conditions. The Optometrist is accountable to ensure their practice is operated as specified in grants and contracts in accordance with applicable statutes and regulations, the Tribes policies and procedures, and professional ethics.
