This is a part time, seasonal position. The hours available are Monday - Thursday 7:00am-7:00pm. Fridays 7:00am-5:00pm and Saturdays 8:00am-2:00pm.
Job Overview: Operate the scale house to record in-coming and out-going weights, generate billing information for Finance and accept payments for product sales. Advises and recommends proper application for compost and soil blends to customers. Inspects in-bound loads for contamination.
Create Your Path: The Work You’ll Do:
- Acts as first point of contact for all customers entering the facility. Provides great customer service to both residential and commercial customers, answering questions, phone calls, and completing transactions. Provides information and/or assistance regarding rules, regulations and operating procedures as out-lined in the Operations Manual to customers utilizing the facility.
- Works independently to operate the commercial truck scale, inputting data into a computer software system to create a receipt for each transaction. Communicates with site operators to assure location of special product orders and sales for customer material loading. Communicate with customers to direct them to the correct loading or unloading area. Uses two-way radio to communicate with yard operators to inform them of all traffic entering the facility.
- Receives payment from customers, balances receipts daily to ensure accurate record keeping and appropriate billing.
- Perform routine cleaning of scale house and surrounding area to ensure it remains neat, organized, and safe.
Job Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Basic knowledge in word-processing, spreadsheets, and electronic mail software.
- Possess basic math skills.
- Valid Class D driver’s license may be required with a good driving record.
