Job Overview: Supervise and provides direction for scale house daily operations, work schedules and procedures of Scale Attendants. As the first point of contact with customers, vendors, and visitors, providing welcoming excellent customer service while ensuring all policies and procedures are followed appropriately. Direct customers as needed, answering questions, and promptly responding to any issues or complaints. Provide leadership, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
Create Lasting Change: The Impact You’ll Have:
- Ensure the scale house is operating smoothly and accurately. Provides daily work direction and leadership and scheduling to Scale Attendants. Assists with interviewing, selecting, hiring and training Scale staff.
- Weigh incoming loads and calculate rates based on load content. Direct driver to proper tipping area. Knowledge of the scale software to troubleshoot and ability to export data, and reports when needed.
- Provides proper documents on all scale transactions entering and exiting the facility. Receives payment from customers. Balances the daily receipts to ensure accurate
record keeping and billing. - Provide information and/or assistance regarding rules, regulations and operating procedures to customers using facility. Answers the telephone and provides general information to callers.
- Other duties includes checking in-coming loads for contamination. Maintain records and logs of facility and weighing activity. And perform routine cleaning of the facility and especially the scale house to ensure it is neat, organized, safe and clean.
- Responsible for hiring, employee engagement and performance management.
- Leads, mentors, coaches, provides guidance support and motivation to their staff.
Job Requirements:
- 2 years of experience such as Bookkeeping, Scale Attendant, Accounting, Retail, or related field.
- 1 years of indirect or direct people leadership experience (may include informal leadership)
- Education: completed high school or GED.
- Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid Class D driver’s license required with good driving record.
