Overview
The Recovery Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from addiction and mental health challenges. This position involves working closely with clients to develop personalized recovery plans, provide guidance, and facilitate access to necessary resources. The Recovery Specialist is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment that encourages individuals to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Duties

  • Collaborate with clients to create individualized recovery plans tailored to their specific needs and goals.
  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship throughout the recovery process, ensuring clients feel empowered and motivated.
  • Conduct crisis intervention when necessary, utilizing effective crisis management techniques to ensure client safety.
  • Facilitate group sessions and workshops focused on addiction counseling, mental health awareness, and coping strategies.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients in their recovery journey.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, interactions, and any incidents that may arise during sessions.
  • Work closely with other professionals in the behavioral health field to coordinate care and resources for clients.
  • Stay informed about best practices in social work, crisis intervention, and addiction counseling.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in crisis management techniques to effectively handle emergencies.
  • Experience in social work or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Ability to mentor clients through challenging situations with empathy and understanding.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies tailored for individuals facing addiction or mental health issues.
  • Familiarity with addiction counseling methodologies and motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
  • A compassionate approach towards mental health counseling that fosters trust and rapport with clients.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $19.66 - $20.39 per hour

Expected hours: 20.00 – 40.00 per week
