Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health care, with the ability to provide comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients experiencing psychiatric disorders. This role requires a commitment to patient-centered care and a collaborative approach to treatment. We would prefer a candidate who is dual licensed in primary care and psychiatry who is interested in performing ketamine infusions one day per week.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide ongoing management of medications and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Engage in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients.
- Perform triage assessments to prioritize patient care effectively.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Stay informed about advancements in psychiatric care and related fields.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
- Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Strong knowledge of physiology, particularly as it relates to mental health.
- Experience in senior care or pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with coding practices related to mental health services is advantageous.
- Skills in discharge planning and triage are highly desirable.
- Experience with esthetic laser treatments or dermal fillers is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients.
