The Chicago Tribune is seeking a senior reporter to cover criminal justice issues in Chicago, working closely with a team that is capable of everything from taking the lead on breaking crime coverage to producing investigative stories on this key part of the Chicago landscape.
What you will do : Become a leader on the Tribune's criminal justice team, using your ability to spot trends and delve into public records and source material to organize market-leading enterprise reportingProvide rewrite ability for the team in the event of major breaking news and sometimes leading that coverageBe able to back up beat reporters on our team, parachuting into either Chicago's main criminal courthouse or U.S. District Court to provide stories on casesSometimes provide assistance and expertise to the team by assisting in the coverage of major trialsWhat you will bring :

The salary range is $60,000 - $65,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
