Summary/Objective

The Horticulture Maintenance posit ion is responsible for directly maintaining the overall condition of the shrubs and flower beds around the property . This position will be integral to the preseason preparation, in-season maintenance, and fall clean-up of the grounds .

Essential Functions

  • Prune shrubs
  • Hand watering flowers & flowerpots.
  • Deadhead flowers.
  • Weed flower and landscape beds.
  • Spreading compost and bark mulch.
  • Planting flowers.
  • Clean-up & sweep landscaped areas .

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has some supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Horticulture Lead

Work Environment

This is an outdoor position and employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions and other conditions found outside . The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, s lipping, tripping, falls , chemicals, sun exposure etc . Injury is possible.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a Full or Part Time S easonal , hourly position . Days and hours of work are typically up to 5 days a week at 8 hours each day on average and may be adjusted for business needs . Overtime is possible. Must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, days, and nights with flexible hours. Schedule is subject to change, and applicants must be flexible with schedule adjustments.

Travel

There are no travel requirements for this position.

Required Education And Experience

  • 2-3 years landscaping or gardening experience required.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be able to speak English at an elementary level.

Work Authorization

Must have valid work authorization to work in the United States for I- 9 form purposes .
