What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Controller (Food Manufacturing) position at Tribute Baking Company?
Tribute Baking Company is a strategic combination of five businesses with rich histories in the baking industry! Always Bagels, Original Bagel, Hometown Foods USA, Just Bagels and Dutch Maid, together, create a market leading producer of authentic New York style kettle-boiled, hearth-baked bagels and high-quality cake products sold into the in-store bakery, club store, foodservice, convenience store, and online channels.
The Controller will partner with operations leaders and Company's corporate finance team to implement standard costing at the facility. This will include implementing a new perpetual inventory system, creating standard costs for all SKUs and analyses to measure operational efficiencies. The Controller will help operations leaders manage to metrics, forecasting throughput and projecting labor and material needs. The Controller will work with corporate accounting to integrate standard costing and perpetual inventory balances with the general ledger. The Controller will also work with the local accounting team to ensure that the financial statements are timely and accurate.
This position is on-site at the Bronx, NY location and requires light travel.
Additional key responsibilities:
- Analyze plant labor, operational spending, and inventory balances for optimal manufacturing levels
- Preparation of daily/weekly/monthly plant performance reports
- Drive and manage the full accounting team's performance of the close process to meet close deadlines
- Play key role in implementation of NetSuite Financials including system and process design, data migration, testing, training and go-forward system administration
- Assist in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation and reconciliation processes
- Oversees accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting or finance
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and partner with stakeholders
- Budgeting and strong cost accounting experience required
- Solid understanding of all the financial and operating aspects/measurements of the manufacturing areas of responsibility
- Proven ability to implement systems, process and controls
- Experience with NetSuite and QuickBooks is preferred
- Food manufacturing experience preferred
- Working with PE-back portfolio companies is a plus
Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
