Additional Information:
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Director of Inpatient Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for our Medical/Surgical, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Multi-Unit Nursing Teams. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while driving performance in clinical outcomes, patient experience, and staff engagement.
Reporting directly to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO), the Director will serve as a visible, proactive leader, fostering collaboration across departments and ensuring alignment with the hospital’s mission, values, and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clinical leadership for inpatient nursing units including Med/Surg, ICU, and flex/multi-unit teams.
- Develop and implement strategies that promote excellence in patient care, safety, staff satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Lead a team of nurse managers and clinical staff, supporting professional growth, accountability, and evidence-based practice.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission).
- Monitor and manage department budgets, staffing models, and resource allocation.
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, ancillary services, and quality teams to improve clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field strongly preferred.
- Active RN license in good standing, or ability to obtain licensure in Colorado.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care setting.
- Proven success managing multidisciplinary teams and inpatient operations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and change management skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience overseeing both high-acuity (ICU) and lower-acuity (Med/Surg) units.
- Familiarity with shared governance models, Magnet principles, and performance improvement methodologies.
- Ability to coach and mentor nurse leaders in leadership development and evidence-based care delivery.
