What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP, Product Strategy position at Tricentis?
Are you an experienced, product and go-to-market leader with a passion for delivering world-class software products in a fast-paced environment? If so, Tricentis is seeking a Vice President of Product Strategy that might be a great fit for you.
The VP of Product Strategy will report to the Chief Product and Strategy Officer. They will be responsible for defining and communicating the company product vision and strategy and work with product line leaders to ensure the strategy appropriately cascades through all product roadmaps. They will ensure we are communicating not just WHAT, but WHY we are doing what we are doing. To do this, they need to be technically astute and customer centric, with a specific focus on executive communication and storytelling. The ideal candidate will have equally strong technical and business acumen. They will also drive strategic growth activities, partner with the corporate development team, identify and define experimental research areas, and drive special executive team projects for the C-Suite. The role is based in Austin, TX, with a hybrid remote/in-office schedule.
What You’ll Do:
- Define portfolio strategy with the overall business goals and company strategy in partnership with key executive leaders across all functions of the business
- Work with heads of product for each product line to set cross-product priorities that balance immediate needs with strategic growth
- Conduct product discovery, market research, and competitor research
- Communicate product vision and strategy to internal and external stakeholders including customers, partners, and analysts
- Ensure Sales and GTM teams have a powerful executive level story around how our technology enables transformation and high ROI
- Partner with our Corporate Development department on M&A research, partnership opportunities, and other strategic growth opportunities
- Strategic initiatives and special projects in support of the Chief Product Officer
- 20% travel, with approximately half of that international
Qualifications, What You’ll Bring to Tricentis:
- Experience working in a B2B software company with enterprise customers
- Minimum 7 years in a senior Product leadership position managing and leading large Product Management organizations (managing managers)
- Proven ability to understand complex business and technical concepts
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to reason in new situations and use product usage data and financial metrics to measure the success of the business
- Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of stakeholders
- Knowledge of enterprise IT, quality engineering markets, and key technologies
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Software Testing Life Cycle
- Creative and forward thinking with experience working with global teams and customers
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
