About Trickle Up
Trickle Up was founded in 1979 on the belief that people have the power to transform their lives. We support people in extreme poverty and vulnerability to advance their economic and social well-being. In partnership with local, national and international organizations, we go to the hardest-to-reach places in the world to reach underserved and marginalized communities with breakthrough opportunities. Together, we equip women with the tools and support they need to forge sustainable pathways out of extreme poverty for themselves and their families.
Through our programs, participants learn new skills to start businesses and earn sustainable livelihoods. Women join savings groups where they save money and access credit, while connecting with other women to support one another. They build self-confidence and resilience. Their families eat more and better foods, and they can keep their children in school. Women become decision-makers at home, advocate for their families and communities, and lead more hopeful lives.
Trickle Up is headquartered in New York City, with regional offices in India and Guatemala. Visit www.trickleup.org for more information.
