Hourly Wage: $54.15- $57.00

Join Our Team as a Journeyman Substation Technician
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Journeyman Substation Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, repair, installation, testing, and routine maintenance of high-voltage substation equipment. This includes work on batteries, chargers, protection relays, voltage regulators, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, repair, and calibrate substation equipment such as transformers, regulators, circuit breakers, reclosers, and battery chargers using electrical schematics, technical manuals, and software tools.
Install, test, and troubleshoot SCADA systems, RTUs, and fiber optic communications, including both AC and DC wiring on new and existing substation equipment.
Conduct routine substation and regulator inspections, perform oil sampling and power quality investigations, and recommend or request maintenance and improvements as needed.
Perform setup, operation, testing, and maintenance of mobile substations and associated control equipment, while assisting other technicians and ensuring safety around high-voltage equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent with the completion of a formal Journeyman Apprenticeship Program or a minimum of 5 year’s work experience as a Substation Technician or in an acceptable technical field.
- Valid Driver’s License and the ability to acquire a DOT Medical Card
- Must be able to read, understand and draw electrical schematics (one-line and three-line diagrams).
- Knowledge of system map books, and electric distribution system layout, system substation capacities and load areas, substation circuit feeds and general system sectionalizing.
- Previous experience working with energized
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work overtime hours as needed, including on-call

Work Environment
- Field-based role
- Exposure to high-voltage in and around substation and overhead lines.
- Work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, inclement weather).
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
