Job Description : Assistant Construction Project Manager / Estimator
Position Overview
The Assistant Construction Project Manager & Estimator supports the Construction Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Coordination
Assist the estimating department with estimating as needed.
Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
2. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
Track project progress and prepare regular status reports for stakeholders.
Support the estimating department in preparation of bids, proposals, and cost estimates.
3. Budget & Cost Control
Monitor project expenses and assist in maintaining budget compliance.
Review and verify invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors and subcontractors.
4. Site Management
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
Identify and address potential issues to prevent project delays.
Enforce compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
5. Communication
Serve as a liaison between the project manager, site personnel, and stakeholders.
Facilitate communication to ensure clarity and alignment across all project teams.
6. Problem-Solving
Assist in resolving conflicts and unforeseen issues that arise during the construction process.
Recommend solutions to improve efficiency and project outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
Strong understanding of construction processes, codes, and safety regulations.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Work Conditions
Split between office and on-site work.
