Position: Laboratory Technician – Level I
Type: 6-month contract (W2)
Experience Level: 0–3 years
Location: 3800 W. 143rd Street, Cleveland, OH 44111
Shift: 1st shift (typically 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Potential for Full-Time Hire: Yes, for the right fit and when headcount allows
Summary
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in an analytical lab setting testing customer samples. Assists higher-level technicians and chemists in setup of laboratory equipment and in recording data for experiments and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Duties usually consist of making measurements, performing several routine quantitative and qualitative biological or chemical analytical tests according to standard procedures.
- Will be trained to use various instruments to prepare for and perform tests, including ICP, SEM, XRF, Titrations, IC, etc.
- Documenting and reporting results in an honest and professional manner
- Keen observation of experimental details and external factors
- Time management and recognition of work efficiency
- Creating a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Performs routine and safety program checks and preventive maintenance on instruments
Environment
Will be in an analytical lab. Role consists of testing paint samples, utilizing various lab instruments, etc.
PPE Requirements
Hard hat (while walking through the production facility), safety glasses, lab coat, and safety shoes.
Qualifications
This is an entry-level position. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, an associate degree is desired, and 1–2 years experience in a lab setting is preferred.
