Job Description Job Description Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced, skilled Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a certified NICET level 3 or 4 water-based designer responsible for complete system design, calculations, and shop listings.DutiesPerform computer-based design and calculations for all types of fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems using multiple software platforms including AutoCAD and AutoSprink.Perform related tasks including fabrication listings and plans, seismic bracing design and calculations, and 3D BIM coordination using Navisworks and Revit.Conduct field work including jobsite surveys / inspections, fire hydrant flow tests, and onsite meetings.Participate in online meetings for coordination, scheduling, and other purposes.Manage design schedules for their individual workload. Project deadlines may necessitate working extra hours on occasion.Study codes, reference handbooks, and other materials as needed to maintain certification and advance in the industry.Work alongside architects, engineers, building owners, authorities having jurisdiction and others to complete each project on time and within the hours budgeted.Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, RFI’s, ASI’s, schedules, contracts, and other documents to gain a complete understanding of the project.Carry and climb a ladder, pick up / carry objects weighting up to 50 lbs, and spend up to 8 hours per day standing and / or walking inside and outdoors.Observe construction safety requirements, policies, and procedures including proper use of PPE. Hard hat, vest, and safety glasses are provided by the company, steel-toed boots provided by employee.Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in fire protection technology.SkillsComputer skills including Microsoft Windows and Office products.Have experience with building and fire codes and understand their application to sprinkler system design.Have strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to resolve conflict with others.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Be able to operate a vehicle (driver’s license required).We encourage you to apply to join our team of highly respected fire sprinkler designers and engineers.Job Type : Full-timePay : $30.00 - $45.00 per hourBenefits : 401(k) matchingFlexible schedulePaid time off, vacation and holidaysProfessional development assistanceRelocation assistanceTuition reimbursement
